Becoming an artist requires resources (time, space and materials), knowledge (of how the art world works), inspiration (research, reflection, soul-searching and daydreaming) and hours upon hours of hard work (skills-building, experimentation and sometimes failure). The myth of the genius artist who emerges fully formed is just that: a myth.
