Sample Questions to Ask Mentees
- Describe your art practice: what inspires you to create? What
are your processes/ motivations/ sources? How has your work evolved?
- What do you hope to get from the mentorship? What are your expectations of working with a mentor?
- How much time do you spend on your art practice? Are there constraints that inhibit your practice?
- Have you received feedback or criticism of your work and how have you dealt with it? Please give an example.
- Where do you want your art practice to be in 5 years? Do you have goals for your practice?
- What skills and qualities are you looking for in a mentor?
- Have you applied to or are you enrolled in other programs during the period of the mentorship?
